Additional Info: Organ: pancreas - The MIA PaCa-2 cell line was established by A. Yunis, et al. in 1975 from tumor tissue of the pancreas obtained from a 65-year-old Caucasian male. The established cell line reportedly has a doubling time of about 40 hours and a colony-forming efficiency in soft agar of approximately 19%. Hybridomas have been made against the CSF-I produced by this line ATCC HB-8207 (F1A3-23) and ATCC HB-8208 (F18 AF1). The line is sensitive to asparaginase.
