Additional Info: | The HEp-2 cell line was established from epidermoid carcinoma of
larynx. It was extensively used for growth of arboviruses. Hep-2
cells have HeLa chromossome markers and G6PD type A, not
expected type B. This line was probably contaminated with HeLa
cells. These cells are positive for keratin by immunoperoxidase
staining.
