Additional Info: GR cell line was obtained from spontaneous migration of cells from granulomas induced in livers of C3H/Hej mice infected with Schistosoma mansoni. These cells display myofibroblast characteristics, and represent murine liver connective tissue cells. They present instability in chromosome number during subsequent passages. They are thought to give rise to continous cell line, GRX (BCRJ-CR001), after a number of passages with significant change in morphology and proliferation rate.
