Additional Info: | GH3 cells was established from a pituitary tumor of a 7 month old
female Wistar/Furth rat. GH3 cells produce growth hormone at agreater rate than
GH1 cells and also produces prolactin. Studies on GH3 have
shown that hydrocortisone stimulates hormone production and
inhibits prolactin. The cells are capable of adaption to growth in
suspension culture using MEM. |
