A split ratio 1:4 is recomended | Consigner: | Dr. Didier Petit, Laboratoire d'Immunologie moleculaire, INSERM
U233, Lille, France; through Dr. Jose Paulo Leite, Instituto
Oswaldo Cruz, Rio de Janeiro. | Reference: | Int. J. Cancer 17: 62-70, 1976 | Additional Info: | The A549 cell line was initiated through explant cultures of lung
carcinomatous tissue from a 58 year old caucasian male. cells
were shown to synthesize lecithin through the cytidine
diphosphocholine pathway and contain multilamellar inclusions
bodies. These characteristics have not been found in cell stocks
prepared at ATCC. the line cannot therefore be definitively
characterized as lung type II cell origin. They do not bears HeLa
markers. the cells are positive for keratin by immunoperoxidase
stainig. | ATCC: | CCL 185 | Biosafety: | 01 |
